How To Get NPCS In Terraria – Don’t Miss The Ultimate Guide For Beginners

How To Get NPC’S In Terraria

A Non-Player Character (NPC) is an automatic character that gives a provider to players. They are a sort of praise for reaching positive feats in Terraria, which include gathering items, defeating bosses, and exploration.

Most NPCs are sellers, selling items in change for silver coins. Exceptions are the Guide, Nurse, Old Man, and Angler. A participant can make use of NPCs by right-clicking on them. You can also make a bucket in Terraria.

First of all, you should put the 50 silver in your money because that will be a requirement for one of them you’ll get to that in a second.

NPCs share the various stats of a player’s character. They occupy three blocks tall and a pair of blocks wide.

They are slightly slower than a participant and may only jump three blocks high; they’ve 250   and may take harm from monsters (except the Old Man). As of 1.3, every NPCs can use a special beating to combat monsters.

A list of all currently gained NPCs may be observed through coming into the inventory screen that is used in pre hard mode:

The Guide

Source (YouTube)

The first NPC you’re going to get is the guide who spawns in the game with you. He, of course, gives you advice on crafting and supplies and tips and that kind of stuff, so that’s the guide.

The Merchant

The Merchant
Source (YouTube)

The second one you get is the merchant needs 50 silver that you’ve stored up the requirements and the stuff you need to spawn the NPC’s in the chests.

But how it works is that once you meet the requirements, it takes about two minutes for the NPC to spawn, and that’s they’ll only spawn one at a time, so if you’re spawning more than one, it’s going to be two minutes in between.

That’s two minutes of real-time, which is two hours of game time. You have the clock over there to look at the game time.

So the merchant, you need 50 silver, and that’s among all the players; if you’re playing in multiplayer. The merchant has just arrived.

So it’s 50 silver among all the players in the game, so if you’re playing multiplayer, you can have a combined 50 silver in total to get that, so there’s your merchant.

The Nurse

Source (YouTube)

The nurse needs at least one player in the game; of course, if you’re a single-player, you have more than 100 health.

This means you need to find one of those heart crystals underground, a life crystal, and you need to mine that and use it.

Another thing worth noting that they will use whatever house is available, so if you have a village like this, they’ll use these houses, but they’ll also use underground houses like you’ve got a couple of houses under a couple of trees.

They will use those if you have a light source because they come with furniture and all that, but they didn’t need a light source again for the houses.

The nurse will heal you when you go and talk to her; she’ll give you the option to heal for a certain amount of money that will also remove any d buffs that may have been applied.

The Demolitionist

The Demolitionist

Nurse and demolitionist actually, in addition to you need the life crystal over a hundred health to get the nurse you also need the merchant to be present first. You’re going to need to get that merchant the 50 silver get the merchant to spawn, and then you can spawn.

The nurse and the demolitionist count the same way. You will need the merchant present first, and then you need an explosive in your inventory. The grains will work, bombs will work, dynamite will work, among a few other things.

The demolitionist will, of course, sell you explosives and similar equipment again you talk to him use the shop.

The Dye Trader

The Dye Trader

To get the dye trader, you will need one of two possible options:

  • one is that you defeat one of the bosses, which is either the eye of Cthulhu, the eater of worlds, the brain of Cthulu, or Skeletron any one of those bosses.
  • Another option is to find one strange plant, so this happens to be a strange plant. They’re not always purple, but that is one type of strange plant. There are various types, so one strange plant and will spawn as well.

Another thing worth noting, of course, as long as you’re not on mobile, actually, for some reason, you don’t have access to this on mobile.

But if you’re on any of the other platforms, you have a housing menu. You can assign where you want them all to be so you can see a whole bunch of houses ready for all these guys, but they’ve just chosen them, spawning each NPC.

They will also spawn during daytime hours; they will not spawn at night, but they will spawn early in the morning if you meet the requirements.

The Dryad And The Angler

The Dryad And The Angler
Source (YouTube)

The angler is sleeping on the surface, and that is how you will find him. It is nighttime, so that he will spawn at night apparently, and you need to go up to him and talk to him basically, and there you go, he gives you fishing quests, and he’s made his way back to base.

He gives you the daily fishing quests that start at 4:30 in the morning when the day begins.

At night, there’s your village you’ve got Jakob, the guide Kayla the nurse bailed in the demolitionists you’ve got Finn the merchant and yelled milk. The die trader and our angler will join us when he gets here, speaking of which the NPCs when they spawn.

If you’re away from your NPC village when you meet the requirements, and they go ahead and spawn, they will spawn into their houses; otherwise, just off the edge of the screen.

If you’re near the village, as you noticed, you find it’s a different matter. They will be where you found them, but they will still assign a house assigned to them so that you will notice.

The Dryads

The Dryads
Source (YouTube)

In the Dryad, you need to defeat any boss other than King slime Lepus or the wall of flesh. She will sell nature corruption crimson items and report the percentage of corruption and crimson or hallow in the world.

Defeated the eye of Cthulhu that’s the easiest one, but any boss again other than king slime Lepus or the wall of flesh and the Dryad will come.

She sells the nature-themed stuff and tells you about and sells crimson corruption stuff. She spawned a little after 6:30 a.m.

Because the day technically starts at 4:30, but it will be another two minutes before any NPCs will spawn. There’s a little randomness there because it was a little after 6:30 a.m. that she spawns.

The Painter

The Painter
Source (YouTube)

The painter will sell you paint and supplies paintings; he’ll tell you all of those you need as implied there.

You need at least seven other NPCs present, only the town NPCs who will live in the houses, and also the traveling merchants will count to that, so if you’re lucky, you can get them with six.

The traveling merchants will show up anytime after you have at least once you have to town NPCs present, which the guide and one other one presumably.

Traveling merchants have a twenty-two percent chance of showing up each morning after that point and will show him that he does show up in the meantime.

The Goblin Tinkerer

The Goblin Tinkerer
Source (YouTube)

To get the Goblin tinkerer, you needed to think of a goblin army and goblin armies when they come after you smash one of these or a crimson heart, but this is also an easy way to get a gun. You’re going to need a gun or some bullets that you use in your inventory.

That’s the requirement to get the arms dealer. You need either a gun that fires bullets or some bullets, and that’s the requirement for your arms dealer. Your arms dealer will not show up if you get flares.

Flares do not count to be a gun firing bullets or bullets for such a gun. So the arms dealer should be showing up shortly there; you are right on time; Trevon, the arms dealer, has shown up to join the village.

The Dungeon

The Dungeon
Source (YouTube)

You’ve made the dungeon where you will meet the older man, and the older man is not a village character,  a village NPC, yet what you need to do is at night you will talk to the older man he spawns at the dungeon.

When you talk to him at the beginning of the world, if you curse him at night, he will transform into Skeletron.

And once you defeat Skeletron, the older man turns into the clothier NPC who will sell you vanity clothing and items after defeating Skeletron because you have Skeletron to beat at night after 7:30.

The Mechanic

The Mechanic
Source (YouTube)

You didn’t need to find the mechanic; she will be bound up in the dungeon very important NPC, actually; your dungeon happens to be huge, so you’ll cut to that as soon as you find her.

When you found your mechanic, there is a dangerous place and don’t have that kind of equipment, and you can see the mechanic is bound in the dungeon.

You will find that, and she will sell you some really important equipment like wires, wrenches, wire cutters, the mechanical lens, all stuff which will be really helpful in crafting mechanisms and viewing and dealing with traps in the game.

The Stylist

The Stylist
Source (YouTube)

Now find the stylist who will be in a spider cave and then you will probably go into your existing world and show you the rest from there. And there you are in a big spider nest. Strangely enough, maybe you can see there, but the stylists all bundled up in the bottom of a spider cave.

You will find the stylus again; you need to talk to her and help you out with your hairstyle. And you are dyeing your hair and stuff like that and just cosmetics for the hair cells hair dyes.

The Tavern Key

The Tavern Key
Source (YouTube)

The tavern key helps you initiate and play through and get rewards from the Dungeon Defenders 2 crossover event, the ethereal or Eternia crystal that’s the one.

You will find him in the world after you’ve defeated either the eater of worlds or the brain of Cthulu.

He’ll be sleeping on the ground, and you’ll need to wake him up again; he will show up on that life-form analyzer as well.

The Party Girl

The Party Girl
Source (YouTube)

The party girl will show up when you have enough NPCs; she’s meant to be the last one before you go into hard mode. If you’re not on PC and don’t have the 1.3 updates, this will probably change for the other platform soon.

But you’ll need eight NPCs. If you’re on PC, the 1.3 update other platforms presumably once that takes effect, it’s 13 NPC’s present.

After you have whichever number of NPCs present, it’s a one in forty chance each day that she’ll show up. So that’s the party girl; she sells you festive novelty items and furniture, and of course, that goes along with your NPCs throwing random parties.

The Witch Doctor

The Witch Doctor
Source (YouTube)

The last pre-hard mode NPC that you can get before defeating the flesh’s wall is the witch doctor, and you can leave him sitting there and a house all alone in the jungle for a very long time. He will sell some unique items if you put him in a house in the jungle, particularly if you talk to him at night.

So the witch doctor you get by defeating the queen bee, which again happens in the jungle underground. You’ll find the hives there, and you can fight the queen bee.

Once you defeat her, the witch doctor will show up, and if you have a house available and then again if you put them in a house in the jungle, he’ll give you some extra items.

But basically, he sells things, including the imbuing station so that you can make flasks for your melee weapons, and he also sells summoner-related equipment.

Npc’s That Are Use In Hardmode

If you’re playing as a summoner, and it’ll give you other stuff, and you can see a bunch of stuff there, blow gun and viewing stations bewitching tables so you can have more minions, viola, venom leaf wings. If you’re in hard mode at once, you can get those from him at night in the jungle only.

You’ve to make your way to the house by the ocean on the far end of the world. After all, the wizard is the first guy that you’re probably going to get the easiest guy to get once you’re in hard mode after you’ve defeated the wall of flesh because, again, he’s just one that you’re going to find sitting underground.

You’ll find him bound up in the cavern layer much like the goblin tinkerer, but only after you’ve defeated the wall of flesh. He sells various magic-related items such as the crystal ball, which a particularly useful if you’re playing as a mage.

Now let’s make our way back to the main base again, and I’ll talk to you about a few more, so the other one that’s pretty easy to get there’s a couple that is pretty easy to get once you get into hard mode.

The Tax Collector

The Tax Collector
Source (YouTube)

The tax collector again this one is PC only for now it’s 1.3 updates onward again will be coming to other platforms. Still, you’ll see there are these lost, tortured souls in the underworld. So you can theoretically get this right after you defeat the wall of flesh.

If you haven’t had some purification powder on hand, you’ll see these tortured souls start appearing in the underworld, AKA hell. They’ll be wandering around; they look kind of like this guy except a little more dead or something like that.

Or Undead if you will, and you throw some purification powder on one of them, and he’ll become the tax collector, and he’ll move into your village.

Basically, he will get you some money to issue each NPC that you have. You can talk to him every once in a while like this and say collect, and you get a little cash because he collects taxes so-called from the NPC’s.

He basically contains a certain amount of money over time, and you can come and collect it every so often.

The Truffle

The Truffle
Source (YouTube)

Another one that’s actually relatively easy to get right near the beginning of hard mode is the truffle; actually, you need to create a surface mushroom biome that again.

But this is the truffle mines named porcini. You need a big enough mud plant space with some mushroom grass seeds, which you’ll get from harvesting mushrooms in an underground mushroom biome. It’s got to be above zero elevation again surface. You have to have a house in that area, and then you’ll get your truffle and PC.

Now he gives you a bunch of interesting stuff, and certain things are released in his shop as you get the mushroom spear particularly. You have to defeat a mechanical boss to get that, but that’s a pretty powerful weapon fairly early in hard mode and also later. It’s very important if you want to get any of the Shrew mite equipment.

The Shrew might set or the hoverboard. The Shrew Mart, through digging claw, you need to buy the auto hammer from him, which you can only get after defeating Plantera.

The Pirate

The Pirate
Source (YouTube)

You get from defeating a pirate invasion, so it’s the pirate captain; he looks like the pirate captain during the invasion. Still, once you defeat a pirate invasion, he’ll move into a house if you have a house free.

He’ll be on your team and sells you a cannon that can be very useful and other pirate-themed stuff, and then after that or around that time again speaking of defeating bosses. Once you defeat one of the mechanical bosses, that’s either the destroyer, the twins, or the Skeletron prime when you get the steampunker.

The Steampunker

The Steampunker
Source (YouTube)

The steampunker again is very useful, as almost an evolved version of the mechanic. She’s the one that will sell you the teleporter, particularly conveyor belts. You can get the steampunk wings, so very useful stuff there.

The Cyborg

The Cyborg
Source (YouTube)

The cyborg will appear once you’ve defeated Plantera; he’ll move into a house if you have one available, and he sells rockets, grenade launcher nanites, and other high-tech stuff. So the launcher, which is a lot of fun, of course, you can those and nanites will inflict confusion on your enemies and high-tech vanity sunglasses. He will move in after you have defeated Plantera; that’s the last boss who will bring an NPC into the game for you.

The Skeleton Merchant

The Skeleton Merchant
Source (YouTube)

Another one that we haven’t talked about actually is the skeleton merchant. He is not a town NPC; he will not move into a house, but you can find him sort of like the traveling merchant except that you find him underground randomly in the cavern lair.

He’s very rare, but the skeleton merchant will sell you yo-yo and mining accessories. Among a few other things, it’s based on the lunar cycle, so it helps if you have the tool to tell the lunar cycle, but it’s based on the lunar cycle; what he sells is not random.

Conclusion

Multiple NPCs can spawn on the same day. If the housing region is because of the player, the brand new NPC will respawn slightly off-screen.

Otherwise, it’ll spawn in the available housing. A killed NPC will respawn the next day and pass again into its house (furnished it meets the requirements).

If a house occupied by an NPC is destroyed, the NPC will pass out. However, it will stroll round in the identical vicinity and could not live nevertheless at night time till the house is restored or a new one is built.
